DATANET SYSTEMS solution is an advanced communication system built on today’s packet network technologies.

Core Network

The entire communication core is based on standard data communication protocols ensuring:

- ability to interoperate with ALL currently available WAN transport solutions & protocols;

- advanced convergence techniques in case of equipment or link failure;

- duplicated infrastructure for special transport redundancy (point-to-point services);

- duplicated equipment deployment (1:1 redundancy);

- traffic classification and prioritization according to specific needs (real-time and multiple data classes);

- specific traffic service delivery parameters such as:

- end to end delay;

- end to end jitter;

- end to end minimal/maximal throughput;

- all traffic consolidation on a dual WAN resilient architecture with all the above considerations.

Voice Communication

Voice communication is one of the most important services ensured by our solution. The voice traffic has particular requirements for the packet transport infrastructure, dictated by nature and destination (real time application and constant, minimum delay). Combining those requests with the reliability and redundancy that are crucial features into ATC environments, results into a complex design requirement.

All those constraints are addressed in DATANET SYSTEMS and its strategic ATC partners’ solution.

The voice solution offers:

- complete IP implementation;

- advanced built in failure detection and rerouting for tie-line emulation services;

- advanced built in failure detection and reconnection in case of far end failure;

- “always-up” voice connection types for Air-Ground and Ground-Ground communications avoiding supplemental delays for call setup;

- transparent transport for “out-of-band” signaling (e.g. E&M interfaces);

- transparent and reliable transport for in band frequency based DTMF/MFC signaling;

- on demand call setup for non-operational voice traffic;

- easy interoperation with external standard based VoIP communication devices such as H.323 and SIP;

- multiple voice compression codecs supported according to MOS requirements;

- large support for analog and digital interconnection interfaces (e.g. to VCSS);

Data Communication

The data communication is natively provided by our solution. The data communication support, not restricted to IP traffic only, is ensuring (over a single IP based backbone network):

- Optimized algorithms for failure detection and recovery (rapid convergence);

- X.25 transport over IP;

- Asynchronous traffic transport over IP (non standard);

- Synchronous data traffic transport over IP with guaranteed delay (e.g. radar information data with no time stamp information);

- Redundancy on all local LAN’s by dual routed infrastructure;

- Minimum/Maximum bandwidth guarantees for different data traffic types/classes (e.g. FDE IP traffic vs. administrative non operational IP traffic);

- Large (practically not limited as long as QoS requirements are met) support for WAN transport solutions (e.g. IP MPLS VPN network infrastructures for WAN);

Security

Security of such a solution is extremely important. As the entire infrastructure is IP based, special attention is given into our designs to secure the infrastructure. Multiple features are thus included into designs to cover the security needs such as:

- Data confidentiality, integrity, no repudiation and authentication through data encryption;

- Secure access through specific Firewall features and appliances;

- Real time traffic inspection to detect specific traffic patterns and possible threats;

- Access control and complete logging on all actions on the infrastructure communication devices;

Management Systems

The DATANET SYSTEMS management solution integrates internally developed management software with partner provided solutions for the deployed equipment. The general features of the management system are:

- real time information and alerts about the network status;

- real time information and alerts about network load on each traffic category;

- real time alerts when different pre-programmed thresholds are exceeded;

- monitoring the network SLA (according to transport contracts SLA) and delivering reports on request for network status and availability; network status includes parameter monitoring as:

- in band delay monitoring and alerting for different traffic classes;

- in band packet loss monitoring and alerting;

- in band delay variation monitoring and alerting;
